One more project addressed to most vulnerable has successfully ended.
On December 27, 2019, Prizren was the host of the Project Closing Conference: “Socio – economic stabilisation of ethnic minority and majority communities in Kosovo” also known as the “Socio – Project”, the initiative funded by Engagement Global, on behalf of German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development – BMZ and is being implemented by Foundation for Sustainable Economic Development – PREDA Plus Foundation Kosovo in partnership with Arbeiter Samariter Bund.
The aim of the project was to create conditions for sustainable livelihoods, employment and development of minority and majority communities in Kosovo by providing support to Start Up Enterprises, Micro Enterprises, Producers Employing Co-operant as well as enhancing and building the capacity of associations supporting entrepreneurship and agriculture.
To meet these objectives, PREDA Plus Foundation and ASB implemented project activities in cooperation with 11 municipalities. The partner municipalities in this project were: Istog, Gracanica, Klina, Prizren, Suhareka, Sërtrpce, Novo Brdo, Lipjan, Mitrovica, Malisheva and Leposaviq.
144 new jobs; 40 New Businesses Established; 44 Existing Supported Businesses; 15 Business Associations supported by capacity building and 9 with operational grants; 15 Agricultural Associations supported by capacity building and 9 with operational grants; 167 business grants, 241 skilled persons with a total of 1116 days / training person, on topics such as: Compiling Project Proposals, Writing Business Plans, Mentoring and Monitoring, Access to Finance and Budgeting and Accounting; 40 days of external consultancy expertise, 114 days of external consultancy expertise, 55 municipalities with 1674 participants, 4 national conferences, 45 Study Visits and 42 International Fair participants, 500 beneficiary families from small community projects.
ASB office in Kosovo was implementing “Socio Project” with main goal to assist to vulnerable majority and other minority families in target municipalities through capacity building in start-up or development of micro businesses, provision of grant-based economic packages for job creation and promotion of public/private partnership for the benefit of socially disadvantaged families with regards to employment opportunities.
