Empowering Women in Rural Kosovo: WIntegra’s Mission for Equality
The EU-funded WIntegra project is committed to empowering women in rural Kosovo by promoting gender equality, increasing their participation in public life, and strengthening their capacity to advocate for human rights. Through targeted initiatives, WIntegra addresses systemic challenges faced by women in these communities, striving to build a more inclusive and equitable society.
As part of its ongoing efforts, WIntegra launched a comprehensive awareness campaign on March 7 in recognition of International Women’s Day. This initiative aimed to spotlight key gender equality issues and mobilize community support for women’s rights. The campaign began with an in-depth assessment to identify the most pressing challenges faced by women in targeted rural areas. Based on these findings, the project team established clear, measurable objectives to guide their outreach activities.
Through direct engagement at community events, WIntegra facilitated discussions, raised awareness, and gathered signatures in support of gender equality initiatives. These efforts amplified the campaign’s impact, fostering a sense of collective responsibility and strengthening the movement for women’s rights in rural Kosovo.
