European Union Helps Launch Women’e Empowerment Center in Dragash/Dragaš Municipality

On November 7th, the EU-funded initiative “WIntegra” established the Women’s Community Engagement Centre (W-CECs) in Dragash/Dragaš Municipality, with the aim of empowering women through education, advocacy, and skill-building. This ambitious project, run by ASB South East Europe (ASB) in partnership with WEntrepreneur Kosova seeks to foster safe spaces where women can connect, share, and grow in their communities.

The Center will focus on tackling pressing social issues while promoting personal development. Women will have access to programs covering a range of topics including legal rights, particularly related to domestic violence and property inheritance, healthcare awareness such as breast cancer education, career counseling and business planning, and modern skills training like IT literacy and energy efficiency.

Beyond skill-building, the W-CEC aim to strengthen women’s voices through advocacy training and public participation initiatives. Workshops, discussions, and community events will provide a platform for women to engage in conversations on topics often considered culturally sensitive, contributing to a more inclusive, empowered society.

This initiative not only supports individual growth but also fosters active citizenship and community resilience. With WIntegra’s efforts, Kosovo moves closer to achieving gender balance and protecting human rights for all.
