Within the project “Support to vulnerable population through improvement of social services in local communities in BiH”, that was implemented by ASB office BiH in 2022, an apartment in Gojava, municipality of Rudo in Bosnia and Herzegovina had been fully renovated.
An apartment of 36 square meters, will secure the space for accommodation of persons in a state of social need. Works carried include: the replacement of carpentry, the installation of the outdoor insulation and reparation of the roof, renovation of the bathroom and kitchen, installation of the new floor and painting of the walls in the whole apartment.
This project created the conditions for the development of a new service – a pilot model of support for persons with special needs, the socially vulnerable and the elderly, through the provision of adequate space (apartment) for temporary accommodation, with controlled supervision and in case of illness and absence of the guardian, i.e. a person who takes care of an elderly person. At the same time, the apartment will be used for emergency accommodation of persons in other procedures in which the Center for Social Work Rudo participates.
The renovated apartment will be made available to the Rudo Center for Social Work.
The total value of the investment was: 26,990.45 KM (around 13.900 EUR) of which ASB SEE provided 17,993.63 KM ( around 9.300 EUR) and the municipality of Rudo provided the remaining amount.
