Identification phase – Field visits to the future beneficiaries

First phase of the project “Provision of housing reconstruction and economic revitalisation to most vulnerable flood-affected families in Serbia” has started at the beginning of August. ASB and Housing Center engineers are on the field, conducting field visits to all recorded families and they are currently preparing damage reports. ASB team has visited, until now, future potential beneficiaries in the municipalities sissy webcams of Valjevo, Mali Zvornik, Osecina and Ljubovija dating breakthrough and they prepared a preliminary list for the selection committees. This first beneficiary identification, phase is the most crucial period of the action. In order to perform a realistic selection, ASB and its partners have coordinated with all stakeholders on this topic adopting a joint methodology for beneficiary identification.

In addition two meetings of selection committees took place in the municipalities of Mali Zvornik and Ljubovija. This commission consists out of representatives from the Local Authorities and the implementing agency as well as state coordination body. The aim is to have 2 sessions where the families would be selected and approved for further support. These commissions are established by the local authorities and they include members of relevant municipal departments (urbanism, social welfare, crisis management department).

Project “Provision of housing reconstruction and economic revitalisation to most vulnerable flood-affected families in Serbia” is jointly developed by four non-governmental organizations: Arbeiter Samariter Bund as main applicant together with Initiative for Development and Cooperation, Housing Centre and “Ana I Vlade Divac” Foundation is a part of EUR30 million program “EU Assistance for flood relief in Serbia”. The aim of the project is to support the normalisation of housing conditions for flood-affected families in Valjevo, Loznica, Mali Zvornik, Ljubovija, Osecina, Bajina Basta, Sid and Sabac as well as to support carbon dating fact or fiction the economic revitalisation of flood- affected families in these municipalities.
