IMPLEMENTATION OF THE PROJECT FOR SUPPORTING INTERNALY DISPLACED PERSONS AND RETURNEES IN SERBIA HAS STARTED

Information about project: The overall goal is to contribute to the Rule of Law by strengthening the migration management trough supporting sustainable return of IDPs to Kosovo* with specific objectives: improving employment of young IDP returnees in the information and communication technologies sector and supporting active inclusion of IDP returnees in the available entrepreneurship and self-employment development programs.
The consortium, led by Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund , will carry out project activities in 10 local self-governments: Kruševac, Arandjelovac, Kragujevac, Trstenik, Vrnjačka Banja, Kraljevo, Raška, Čačak, Bujanovac and Vranje.
The project will directly support the economic empowerment of at least 110 internally displaced persons (90 internally displaced persons from the general population and 20 young internally displaced persons) who are in the process of returning to Kosovo *. More, project will support an additional 30 returnee families, who will receive assistance for return in form of humanitarian parcels and organization of transport.
Main project activities:
• Awareness raising campaign focused on economic empowerment of internally displaced persons in the process of sustainable return to Kosovo *
• Implementation of the program for supporting the employment of young internally displaced persons in the ICT sector
• Implementation of professional support programs for internally displaced persons for participation in available programs for self-employment and entrepreneurship development.
The project is funded by the European Union within the program “Improving the living conditions of internally displaced persons and returnees from the readmission process in Serbia and supporting sustainable return to Kosovo”.
