JOINT HELP OF ASB AND GFM TO ELDERLY CENTERS IN SERBIA DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

2020-05-29

As a response to the active world pandemic crisis, by supporting social distancing due to preserving the health of the elderly people, ASB awarded Elderly Centers in Serbia with a donation of IT equipment.

Main goal of this action is to ease the isolation for the beneficiaries of Elderly Centers during the Covid-19 crisis. Enabling the beneficiaries of the Elderly Centers in 5 municipalities in Serbia to get IT equipment, allows them to have online access to their families and friends during this period, when they are advised to minimize direct interaction with other groups of people.

ASB will procure and then install a set of IT equipment which will allow establishment of audio-video chat-room on each location in order for the beneficiaries to be able to communicate with their families and friends in the restricted movement.  Upon the crisis, the equipment will be used for basic IT courses for beneficiaries of the Centers, which will contribute to the improvement of IT skills and communication among them.

It is planned to deliver over 100 IT sets (PCs, headsets with microphone, PC cameras, Speakers, Smart TVs, etc), valued over € 20,000, to the elected Elderly Centers in Subotica, Sabac, Krusevac, Novi Pazar and Dimitrovgrad.

In scope of this action, over 1,150 direct and 15,000 indirect beneficiaries will be helped.

This donation is provided by the German Foreign Ministry and it is planned to be delivered by the end on the June 2020.
