Despite the extreme weather conditions this summer, construction works on the shelter in Mostar are coming to an end.
Our engineering team visited the construction site and monitored the quality and dynamics of the works, which, among other things, include the installation of a new facade for the purpose of improving the thermal efficiency of the facility, the renovation of the existing bathroom to adapt it so it can be used by persons with disabilities, as well as the installation of new floors.
The completion of the works will entirely result in achieving the goal we set for the project „United Against Domestic Violence in the Western Balkans“, which is financed by the German Federal Foreign Office, and implemented by our expert team on behalf of the ASB SEE. Namely, beneficiaries of the shelter, primarily women and children victims of domestic violence, will now have the opportunity to stay in a safer and improved space, and at least that way receive the support desperately needed after leaving their homes where the violence occurred.
Completion of the works and the official handover of the facility have been scheduled for the beginning of October, and today we are happy to show you the current atmosphere from the construction site in photos taken in the field.
The project “United Against Domestic Violence in the Western Balkans – Regional Cooperation and Support to Shelters for Victims of Domestic Violence” supports 11 shelters for the victims of domestic violence in the West Balkan region. The project is funded by the German Federal Foreign Office @auswaertigesamt, implemented by ASB South East Europe @asb_see and co-funded by local government units in 11 project municipalities.
ASB is a German aid and welfare organisation, engaged in areas such as civil protection, rescue services and social welfare services. As a non-political organisation, ASB has, since its foundation in 1888, provided rapid and direct help to all those in need of our support.
