More about the project

Wider Objective:
Local health care centres provide quality care for their COVID and post-COVID patients but also other vulnerable groups with health risks in 18 cities/municipalities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia and Kosovo

Specific project objective: Technical capacities of 18 local health care centres are strengthened thanks to the medical equipment provided. Healthcare workers are able to treat more patients and provide a better service. Satisfaction of end users (patients) has increased.

Results:
Result 1: 19 local health centres received equipment in line with the specifications and based on their directly reported needs. Through the provision of modern and high-quality medical/IT equipment for diagnosis and treatment of the COVID patients and other groups, the technical capacities of the health centres have been strengthened. According to the online survey of 16 representatives of health centres, more than 90% of respondents report that the capacities of their respective health centre have improved (significantly improved: 62,4%; somewhat improved: 31,3%).

Result 2: As reported in the online survey and during field visits, new and modern medical equipment has enabled faster work with individual patients, thus allowing for an increased number of daily treatments and a higher quality of service due to better diagnostic and treatment capacities. According to the online survey, all respondents stated that the delivered medical equipment increased capacities of health workers to more adequately respond to patients’ needs (significantly increased: 62,5%; somewhat increased: 37,5%).

Result 3: Based on the information provided by health centre coordinators through the online questionnaire, as well as during field visits, it is evident that the satisfaction of patients, 5/8 particularly elderly ones, has increased thanks to the assistance provided through the project. According to a survey of 16 health centre representatives, more than 90% of respondents reported that the satisfaction of their patients with the care received has increased after the provision of the new medical equipment.
