Overall objective: to empower women Civil Society Organizations (CSO) and to support their efforts to promote, advance and defend human rights of women and consolidate their role as actors for positive change.
Specific objectives: to prevent and fight against all forms of discrimination against women in 3 Kosovo municipalities – Dragash/Dragas, Novobërdë/Novo Brdo and Graqanicë/Gracanica
Expected outputs:
1) Improved managerial and lobbying capacities of 5 women CSOs for promoting women’s political, civic and economic participation in 3 Kosovo Municipalities;
2) Established social support infrastructure for women through creation and running of 3 Women Community Engagement Centres (W-CEC) in Dragash/Dragas, Novobërdë/Novo Brdo and Graqanicë/Gracanica;
3) Strengthened personal capacities of 150 vulnerable local women in advocacy and active participation in public life through organization of participatory programs and events;
4) 3 Policy Briefs on Gender Balance in the targeted municipalities formally adopted.

This action targets the following groups:
a. 150 women from the age group 18-65 years old, particularly those from underrepresented or disadvantaged backgrounds. These are women living in three targeted municipalities: Dragash/ Dragas, Novobërdë/ Novo Brdo and Graqanicë/Gracanica, who will benefit from capacity-building programs and mentoring support leading to improved representation and gender equality.
b. 30 public officials, decision-makers and stakeholders, at local level, responsible for gender equality, human rights and socio-economic development. Local authorities, institutions and departments and relevant stakeholders will be invited to take part in the project especially related to organization of info sessions and community events to raise awareness among women about their rights and promote gender equality.
c. 5 CSOs working on gender equality, human rights and women empowerment. The project will work closely with 5 CSOs to improve the implementation and coordination of existing human rights mechanisms. This will be done by increasing the capacities of 20 individuals, part of these CSOs.
d. 540 citizens, mostly women, from three targeted municipalities, supporting the initiative to empower women and support their efforts to promote advance and defend their rights. These citizens will be reached as part of the advocacy and awareness campaigns on gender equality, women empowerment and human rights.
e. Final beneficiaries of this initiative are mainly women from all three targeted municipalities, local government institutions, and communities.
