The project “United Against Domestic Violence in Serbia” aims to improve the position and quality of life of women victims of domestic violence in the municipalities/cities of Pančevo, Zrenjanin and Sremska Mitrovica, in line with the Focus Area 4 of the Banca Intesa Foundation (“Support for women in vulnerable situations and fight against social inequality”). Through an integrated approach, the project provides economic, psychosocial, and general support to women who are in the process of leaving shelters, focusing on their empowerment and long-term independence. The project combines direct support for beneficiaries with broader social engagement, creating sustainable results and improving the conditions for combating domestic violence in Serbia.

Target group: Women who are in the process of leaving shelters for victims of domestic violence, or who left shelters recently and need support not to return to the spiral of violence.

Planned measures:

1. Economic Empowerment:

– 50 women will complete basic training in financial literacy (in personal & business finances) of which:

– 25 women will successfully finish vocational training programs, and

– 8 women will receive equipment for starting their own business.

2. Psychosocial Empowerment:

– 50 women will improve their psychological resilience, self-confidence and emotional stability through workshops and counseling.

3. Exchange and Learning: 

– 6-10 shelter staff will improve exchange, networking and learning opportunities

– 3,000 citizens are informed about the importance of shelters and supporting victims of domestic violence.
