Relief parcels distributed to returnee communities in Kosovo*

2015-08-13

ASB team distributed support packages of food, hygiene, furniture and household appliances to 17 returnee and IIDP families from municipalities of Obilić, Kilina, Peć, Istok, Gračanica, Gnjilane and Kosovska Kamenica during the July and August 2015. The distribution of the parcels was an activity within the project „Support to sustainable return and reintegration of IDPs to Kosovo”. The project is led by ASB Serbia and funded by the European Union.

The provision of support packages to the returnee and IIDP families is crucial due to the fact that it provides immediate support upon return and supports the sustainability of the families in order for them to remain in their communities.

One of project beneficiaries, Jugoslav Đorđević from Obilic, told us that the life of his family will be improved after receiving this kind of support. Đorđević family counts six members:  he, his wife, his mother and three children. Jugoslav hopes to get the greenhouses, also donation of the European Union, to be able to work in the garden. On that way future existence will be provided for this returnee family.
