Turning ideas into inclusive action across the Western Balkans♿️

Practical knowledge, local cooperation, and inclusive ideas came together in Prizren through the support of ASB South East Europe and PREDA Plus Foundation, where a three-day Project Cycle Management training was organized for municipal representatives and civil society organizations working with persons with disabilities.

Implemented under the EMPOWERED project — “Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities, Regional Cooperation and Development in the Western Balkans”, financed by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), the training focused on strengthening local capacities for developing inclusive initiatives and sustainable community-based solutions.

Through practical sessions, teamwork, and exchange of experiences, participants developed concrete project ideas aligned with local priorities and the real needs of persons with disabilities, with a special focus on accessibility, inclusion, and long-term community support. Beyond individual trainings and local activities, ASB SEE continuously works on strengthening regional cooperation, connecting organizations, institutions, and local communities across the Western Balkans, and creating space for joint learning, advocacy, and exchange of experiences.

By supporting local civil society organizations, municipalities, and grassroots initiatives, ASB SEE contributes to the development of stronger local networks capable of responding to the real needs of vulnerable groups. Through mentorship, capacity building, advocacy support, and regional partnerships, organizations are encouraged not only to implement activities, but also to become active partners in shaping more inclusive local policies and sustainable support systems.

ASB SEE’s regional approach enables organizations from different countries to exchange knowledge, share good practices, and jointly develop solutions that can create long-term impact across the region. In this way, local initiatives become part of a broader regional effort aimed at improving inclusion, accessibility, employment opportunities, and equal participation of persons with disabilities in all areas of society.

By investing in people, partnerships, and local capacities, ASB SEE continues to contribute to building more inclusive, resilient, and supportive communities throughout the Western Balkans. 🤝
