Aging respectfully in Center for Healthy Aging in Ilidza, BiH

As part of field visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina for better coordination of ASB’s projects in South East Europe, Sava Pantelic from ASB headquarters in Cologne, together with the ASB SEE Director, Elmir Bojadžić visited the premises of the 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝘆 𝗔𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻 𝗜𝗹𝗶𝗱𝘇̌𝗮.

Last year, the ASB BiH had fully equipped the newly opened Center, including the purchase of the panel furniture, i.e. tables, shelfs and chairs, as well as kitchen construction and installation.

The visit took place during the morning exercises, so ASB team had the chance to socialize with beneficiaries taking place in this activity. In addition to these regular morning activities, our dear friends also have the opportunity to express themselves creatively through decoupage workshops, jewelry making, painting lessons etc. Once these activities are finalized, they often stay in Center to hang out and talk over coffee and homemade cakes.

Happy beneficiaries do not miss the opportunity to socialize with friends at the Center every day, saying time spent there 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗺 𝗳𝗲𝗲𝗹 𝗿𝗲𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗻. Their greatest impression is that they feel taken care of with respect to their intellect, without infantilization, which is often the case with caregivers in homes for elderly.
