Attention everyone! If you are near Banja Luka these days and you are lucky enough, you may come across our cheerful Caravan of Human Rights. But be careful, its passengers are full of positive energy, so it is very likely that their good mood will rub off on you as well.
The Human Rights Caravan is part of the project “Human Rights and Anti-Discrimination Initiative for Vulnerable Groups”, implemented by ASB SEE and its local partner LIR Civil Society from Banja Luka and will be on the road for the next three days.
The Caravan left Sarajevo yesterday on its way to Banja Luka, visiting the Association for Helping the Mentally Underdeveloped Persons of Banja Luka and the Association “Together” – the Association for Helping Families, Individuals, and the Community in Mental Health of Banja Luka, where they talked, played, and laughed with their hosts.
The overall objective of awareness-raising and communication campaign – Human Rights Caravan – is to shift the prevailing perception and atmosphere of fear and resentment towards the vulnerable groups and interrupt “the spiral of silence” regarding the violations of human rights and social exclusion of vulnerable groups.
The main aim is to reinforce freedom of expression and equality in the media aimed at sensitization of reporting about human rights and democracy of marginalized groups. The Human Rights Caravan will gather journalists from national and local radio stations, television, newspapers and/or digital media on the 3-day tour visiting different municipalities in BiH, aiming to achieve the sensitization of reporting about vulnerable groups.
