During February, the project team traveled across the south of Serbia to meet beneficiaries who had finished Business Start-Up Trainings and are now attending Vocational-Educational Trainings (VETs). Members of our team sat together with each attendant in Bujanovac, Vranje, Leskovac and Surdulica and heard their impressions and personal experiences. Adviser in the team gave a short lecture about possibilities in the market nowadays, job fairs that will happen in the future, as well as the procedure for application for self-employment grants by the government.
The team spoke to members of Roma population about their needs, reasons to apply to the specific module of VETs and conducted a short questionnaire on their expectations for earnings after finishing the VET, hopes for employment, etc.
Project “Social inclusion and economic empowerment of Roma population in 11 municipalities in Serbia” is being implemented by ASB SEE with the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs (MoLEVSA), and partner organizations IDC Serbia and Roma Forum of Serbia.
