Human Rights Day 2023

2023-12-10
In the light of the Human Rights Day we are celebrating on December 10th every year, we would like to reflect on some of the currently active projects ASB SEE is implementing and on the human rights that are being exercised and improved through those projects.
In Bosnia and Herzegovina, through GFM funded project ASB helps social welfare centers (SWC) and non-governmental organizations (NGO) that provide social services, directly helping vulnerable children, youth, women, elderly and people with disabilities in ten different cities and municipalities in BiH. This way, ASB supports their freedom from discrimination and their human right to equality.

In Serbia, within KfW funded project, ASB organizes inclusive educational workshops for children and youth, as well as Vocational-Educational Trainings for adults. All beneficiaries who successfully complete the training are later granted with equipment that can help them start their own business. More than 50% of our beneficiaries are women. This way, ASB supports their human right to work and education, as well as right to equality.
In Kosovo, within a BMZ funded project, together with the Foundation for sustainable economic development – PREDA Plus Kosovo, ASB has helped establish 5 Community Engagement Centers (CEC) in five beneficiary municipalities. CECs aim to provide space for repatriated women and girls and those at risk of leaving, encouraging their participation in various activities, education, Vocational-Educational Trainings, seminars, social gatherings and community events. This way, ASB supports their human rights to be educated and to have an equal possibility of finding the job in labor market.
