ASB Serbia team had spent last days with good weather to visit beneficiaries who were granted greenhouses and accompanying equipment for agricultural activities through the project “More Social through more Economic – Socio-economic support for vulnerable families and social service providers in seven municipalities in Serbia”.
We were positively surprised that most greenhouses were already prepared for planting stage, and in some of them we could even soon expect strawberries!
ASB SEE is successfully implementing similar projects for several years now, in different municipalities in Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo. It is always inspiring to see how people are motivated to provide for their families and how even the smallest amount of support can bring great outcome.
In some families, children were included in the process from the beginning, observing adults and learning about plants and tillage prior to it. By introducing children to the cultivation process, they become more familiar with the concepts of healthy nutrition and ecological production.
Project is funded by German Federal Foreign Ministry and local governments.
ASB is looking forward to similar projects in 2022.
