ASB field team of experts has selected first 90 beneficiaries for the reconstruction /rehabilitation of homes damaged by May floods in the municipalities of Odzak in the Posavina region. ASB will select the total of 500 beneficiaries in municipalities of Odzak, Samac, Domaljevac and Orasje in the Posavina area, which was most affected by the floods in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The action is funded by the European Union through the “EU Program for Recovery from floods” in BiH.
The Project is jointly developed with UNDP and it is divided into two main activities. ASB is providing services related to the selection of beneficiaries and preparation of technical specification for the reconstruction and UNDP will continue with provision of housing measures and construction work. The Contract for Professional Consulting Services in Sarajevo was signed between Ms Zahira Virani, UNDP Deputy Resident Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Mr Elmir Bojadzic, Regional Director for South East Europe of the Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund e.V (ASB) in the total value of EUR 185.000. Team of six experts has started with beneficiary selection immediately upon signing of the Contracts and very soon will be ready to provide first 100 housing designs.
