10 hard-working people from Leskovac and surrounding villages were awarded certificates after the successful finalization of Vocational-Educational Trainings of their choice, this time including: make-up artists, forklift drivers, bookkeeper and masseur.
Gordan Velev, Country Director of ASB office Serbia had awarded the certificates and spoke to the gathered beneficiaries: “Thank you all for your participation and perseverance to complete these programs. We tried our best and offered good options for learning, but you put in all of the effort to get these certificates in the end”.
“We are pleased with the great history of cooperation with the City of Leskovac and grateful to the German Development Bank as a donor for the trust shown in the second phase of this project as well. But beyond all, we are happy that we have managed to help so many of hard-working people in the process of social inclusion and easier inclusion in the labor market. 𝐄𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐝 𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐬 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐮𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐧𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤 𝐨𝐟 𝐬𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 𝐞𝐱𝐩𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐬. Some of you may start a joint venture, thus pooling resources” said Velev.
Milka Ilic, welcomed the audience in front of the City of Leskovac stating that certificates are recognized by the National Employment Service. This means that all beneficiaries who received them can work in a private, state-owned company or start their own business.
The success of the project during the first phase exceeded the initial expectations, compared to the planned 2,000 visits to inclusive workshops for children, youth and adults, as many as 10,000 visits were achieved.
