ASB and GFM against COVID-19 in Kosovo: audio-visual chat rooms for persons with disabilities

As a response to the active COVID_19 pandemic crisis in Kosovo, ASB is assisting seven HandiKos centres with IT equipment to easy the contact between Healthcare providers/trainers and psychologists, with disabled persons.

This action is conducted in Municipalities of Prishtina, Prizren, Gjakova, Gjilan, Peja, Ferizaj and Mitrovica, and has a main goal to support social distancing and to improve communication of the beneficiaries within it.

Given that this Centres work with the most vulnerable population at the time of the COVID19 pandemic – people with disabilities, in order to facilitate isolation, by sharing IT equipment, the idea is to enable beneficiary’s easier contact with Healthcare team.

Namely, the centers will be awarded with a set of computers, televisions, internet ports, patch cables, speakers and other accompanying equipment, so that their users can strengthen or establish regular online communication with their trainers/providers while respecting the requirements of social distancing.

This action is funded by the German Foreign Ministry, with IT equipment valued of 20,000 EUR
