Today, on the International Day of the Elimination of Racial Discrimination, we would like to raise awareness of Antigypsyism. As defined in the report of European Commission against Racism and Intolerance, this term refers to especially persistent, violent, recurrent, and commonplace form of racism, an ideology found on racial superiority, a form of dehumanization and institutional racism nurtured by historical discrimination.
In ASB, we believe segregation and negative stereotypes should be eliminated at all levels, for inclusion and equal participation to take place.
ASB SEE office runs a project that supports social inclusion and economic empowerment of Roma population in 12 municipalities in Serbia, providing Business Start-Up Trainings and Vocational-Educational Trainings for adults, as well as inclusive workshops for adults, youth, and children.
Motivated to help our beneficiaries best apply the knowledge they acquired through training, we are also exploring possibilities for cooperation between employers and beneficiaries, for potential training or future employment.
