Prevention of professional burnout, a training for employees of shelters for victims of domestic violence in BiH

2024-06-12

We are happy when given an opportunity to create a space where accomplished professionals can share valuable experiences and at the same time learn something new, thriving in a positive atmosphere they all contributed. Today we had just that kind of opportunity.

Within the project “United Against Domestic Violence in the Western Balkans – Regional Cooperation and Support to Shelters for Victims of Domestic Violence”, funded by the German Ministry of Foreign Affairs @AuswartigesAmt, and implemented by ASB SEE @asb_see , representatives of 6 shelters from Bosnia and Herzegovina attended the first day of 2-day training on Prevention of Professional Burnout, held in Neum from June 11-12.

During the first day, our dear colleagues from partner organizations, Associations Buducnost from Modrica @buducnost-md and Zena BiH from Mostar @udruzenjezenabihmostar, as well as the Foundation Lara from Bijeljina @fondacijalara , together with guests from shelters from Banjaluka and Bihac, had the opportunity to learn something new about the factors that cause professional burnout and hear more about emotional literacy skills.

Through interactive work and discussions, our trainer, Sladjana Cvjetkovic, introduced the participants to the main work styles, making an excellent introduction to the second part of the training that will follow tomorrow.

Although tired from the long trip, attendants gladly participated in the games/workshops, honestly presenting the challenges they face in everyday work at the very same time.

We are sharing part of the atmosphere from today’s training with you through photos taken in the classroom.

The project “United Against Domestic Violence in the Western Balkans – Regional Cooperation and Support to Shelters for Victims of Domestic Violence” will support 11 shelters for the victims of domestic violence in the West Balkan region. The project is funded by the German Federal Foreign Office, implemented by ASB South East Europe offices and co-funded by local government units in 11 project municipalities.
